Hud Showing Up AGAIN!
One of HUDs closet high school baseball buddies and a star athlete at NAFO High School, Mag, called me just now. I hadn’t heard from him in awhile and he was busting at the seams to tell me how HUD was “stalking” him lol! He just moved to Charleston a week or so ago and when he got there he met his neighbor’s white lab, named Hudson. He’s coaching at a baseball facility and his first student was, Hudson. A leftie pitcher and outfielder. And then he got his wifi set up and rec

Hud Showing Up Again
After HUD was born and I went back to work, a neighbor and ultimately life long dear friend named JuJu (Julie) watched Hudson for me- she was like a second mom to Hud. She was out to dinner this past weekend and guess whose name was etched in the table they sat at!! #NOTCoincidenceAgain

Hud Showing Up
I went to Minneapolis a couple of weeks ago to get my Minneapolis Twins stadium stamp in my MLB passport ⚾️⚾️ and stayed with two very dear friends, Kathy and Randy, I hadn’t seen in 20 years. We were catching up on life and what had happened with Hud and Kathy had asked me if Hud ever showed me signs. I told her he absolutely did and I ran through a few different ways I normally “see” him - main one being a double rainbow which I know is Hud and Kelly showing up together. T

From Baseball Dreams to Addiction: May 27, 2019 Was the Beginning of the End
7 mind-boggling years ago, Hudson’s addiction spiral began and left an indeible impact on everyone who knew him. Looking through the photos and videos of Hud, it’s impossible not to wonder how an outrageously fun-loving, baseball-driven, smart, tender hearted, and hilarious young man—who was deeply loved by family and friends—became trapped in addiction. Hudson and Kelly with their World Championship Rings On A Promising Life Hudson was a typical teenager with the world at hi

4 Year Deathiversary - Pokemon to the Rescue
The 4 years since HUD passed have not gotten easier - there are definitely better days now but this weight of losing a child doesn’t get lighter. It’s always strapped to you. But when others, especially perfect strangers, help you carry the load like Kevin Moss did (thanks to “genius” pokemon memorial! :)), you see purpose and love in the life your kid gives others. That will get me through today. And then someone else will inevitably reach out and let me know Hud gave them a

FLL Spring Break and Thanksgiving Memories Collide
Who knew Madelyn’s VRBO in FLL last week that her friend lined up for them would be within walking distance to the restaurant we ate the worlds best fish tacos with Hud when we went to FLL for Thanksgiving 2019! It was the same trip where Hud left his carry on bag with all his clothes for the week at the restaurant we ate at in the CLT airport right before we boarded. I ran back to the restaurant to try to get it but they’d already turned it in to security. Hud landed in FLL

Signs For Everyone!
What means the most, for this grieving mom at least, is having that "village" of friends who ALWAYS remember Hud! Thank you Amy Brown for being Hud's best Pokemon Go partner in crime, then and now - glad he sent a little "hello" to you in Harris Teeter! What are the odds Harris Teeters would become a Pokemon card machine hot spot?!! Machines just installed last week and cards already sold out - can't wait to buy my first package and take to Hud's memorial!!

Happy 23rd Hud
“I like this game mom!” Best bday compliment Hud ever gave me (of course he was almost $400 richer when he said it lol!). Wondering what Hud would be doing now, where we would’ve celebrated, would it have been coconut cake AGAIN or a new birthday treat?! Missing him always but especially on birthdays. 🎂 💜

More Dreams (I Warned You!)
I'm justifying my sharing of dreams per the old adage "better out than in." At least for me it is, maybe not so much for you :) In this dream I see Titus through a glass door leading out to a back yard and he’s sniffing the snake. I open the door and am calling Titus inside trying to get him away from the snake but he keeps sniffing. Titus was the best dog ever from when we first got him at 4 months old - always listened to me, never needed a leash, never left my s

Dreams
Bare with me as I have several dreams I NEED to share that have happened intermittently over the last couple of years. I can't explain why I feel I need to post them - it's only for me not anyone else, except maybe Hud who I really hope reads my blogs lol :) But I can't help but think somehow Hud has something to do with instigating my dreams - so vivid, so real, so powerful. DREAM 1: I’m walking down a hall to an elevator with no shirt on – just shorts. I get on the elevat

Surviving The Holidays 5 Bottles of Wine at a Time
Even as the years go by the holidays continue to be so very bitter sweet. Treasuring all of the amazing Thanksgiving memories at Mamalou’s (until she passed at age 99 in 2019) and then down to Fort Lauderdale with cousin Allen (jet skis and new ink every year - hard to top that!), Hud is deeply missed. We cooked enough food for 100 people and then tried to keep up with my new crazy Brit husband but quickly learned Brit’s are next level wine drinkers!! Started the morning with

Birthdays Aren’t Easy
No one made Madelyn (or me) laugh like Hud. He was stupid funny. :) And when things didn’t go right, Madelyn counted on Hud. Of course sometimes Hud was the reason things didn’t go right lol, but when it wasn’t his doing she turned to him for “expert” brotherly advice. Madelyn’s 20th birthday today was hard - turning older than Hud/having a birthday he’ll never get and then plans not completely coming together at the last minute brought a few tears. We talked about how she

Heartfelt Thanks for Pokemon Tributes
Slow down. Hud told me that when he came home from wilderness camp almost 5 years ago to the day. We’d go on hikes and I’d be going at mach speed and he’d ask me - why are you in such a hurry? So something triggered early this week. Slow down. Go to HUDs site. Haven’t been in awhile. So I drop a long list of to do’s and head uptown. Get stuck in CLT traffic 🤬. Start to turn around and head home but catch the cars license plate in front of me - JHM. This is HUDs sign for Made
