More Dreams (I Warned You!)

I'm justifying my sharing of dreams per the old adage "better out than in." At least for me it is, maybe not so much for you :)

In this dream I see Titus through a glass door leading out to a back yard and he’s sniffing the snake. I open the door and am calling Titus inside trying to get him away from the snake but he keeps sniffing. Titus was the best dog ever from when we first got him at 4 months old - always listened to me, never needed a leash, never left my side, never barked, just wanted to please. This time I couldn’t understand why he wasn’t listening to me and before I could do anything, the snake - which ended up being a cobra- rose high and grabbed Titus by the neck. That’s when I heard Madelyn screaming. She was watching the snake bite Titus. It was the same scream she did when I woke her up to tell her Hud had passed away. I tried to console her, but she was inconsolable, once again.

Then I woke up.

My husband (still getting used to saying that lol!) told me that dogs and snakes are common in dreams (I googled and he was right, of course, dang Brit is never wrong!). Dogs symbolize loyalty (and Titus was the loyalest of all loyal dogs!) and snakes represent someone you can't trust, deception, betrayal. I think of so many ways to interpret this dream, but then stop myself because similar to all things relative to losing your child, there's no real way to know what this dream means any more than there is a way to know why Hud didn't get more than 19 years here with us.
