Birthdays Aren’t Easy

No one made Madelyn (or me) laugh like Hud. He was stupid funny. :) And when things didn’t go right, Madelyn counted on Hud. Of course sometimes Hud was the reason things didn’t go right lol, but when it wasn’t his doing she turned to him for “expert” brotherly advice.

Madelyn’s 20th birthday today was hard - turning older than Hud/having a birthday he’ll never get and then plans not completely coming together at the last minute brought a few tears. We talked about how she missed being able to go to his room when she was upset and him offering his profound words of wisdom while playing his PS4 - “it’s not that deep.”

Deeply grateful for Madelyn’s besties who managed to bring lots of laughs to the birthday dinner and demolished the world’s biggest sushi yacht!! Tears and laughter - our new birthday norm.
